We purchased Kilburn church in January 2022 from auction with the intention of converting the building into residential dwellings for the residents of Kilburn. Previous to this we have converted smaller properties to a high standard for use as professional shared accommodation for residents in Derby.

 

This is the largest project we have ever undertaken. 

Initially our plan was to look to convert the building into shared accommodation however due to the lack of on street parking and the potential impact this could have on the local area we have now submitted plans for the following.

We are proposing plans to convert the church into 13 apartments to a high standard. This will comprise of a mixture of one bedroom and two bedroom apartments. We are looking to work with the existing footprint of the building, retaining as many original features as possible.

The project is estimated to take around 24 months to complete. To minimise disruption to the local residents such as having to close the road we will have all internal items such as structural beams delivered in smaller parts which will then be assembled inside the original building. We will provide cycle racks for all residents to ease the pressure of parking on the street. These apartments will be aimed at younger working professionals as a stepping stone for those who may currently be living at home or working in the local area but would like their own space but are currently unable to take on the costs a larger family home due to the lack of availability in the area and increased living costs.
